About the list
This page contains wishes for new N4100+ modules. If you have a wish/suggestion for a new module, please add it to the list and make sure to include a thorough description of purpose, funtionality, usage etc.
Since the N4100+ is almost identical to the N2100 you may want to have a look at the N2100 Module List and the N2100 Module Wishlist first before adding anything to the N4100plus Wishlist.
If you are a module developer with a little spare time, feel free to implement a module of your preference. Make sure to have a look at the N4100plus Module Development page.
The Wishlist
- Please show me How to the way to setting rtorrent&wtorrent on Mac OSX 10.5.6.
- I want to use Mail server module if N4100+. If you have , please tell me that.
- I would like to be able to stream MPG4 files to my PS3 with the N4100plus. The PS3 now supports DivX too, that would be even more useful than MPG4. Pretty please :)
- TWONKYMEDIA: UPnP AV Media Server from the N2100 to the N4100+ as it allows streaming of AAC, MP4 and AVC unlike mediabolic. Thanks in advance
- File Versioning - have different versions of the same file. Simply mirroring data onto a backup device is not enough. This feature should make snapshots and keep them for a specific amount of time according to a backup plan. The historic files should be accessable either by web interface or through a directory structure. Examples of OSS tools for this are backuppc or rsnapshot. This feature would greatly enhance the use of this appliance, making it a true backup appliance.
- TRUECRYPT or CRYPTO module for 4100+: easy way to encrypt and access encrypted resources on NAS
- An UPS module (via USB or RS232->USB converter) to handle autoshutdown after X minutes or when batteries are too low.
- PPP-BLOG from the N2100
- Now that we have a module for NFS, it would be awesome to have a module to add the rpc.statd so that sharing over nfs would have the file lock feature working properly. I've seen such a module for the N5200
